OUR STORY

At Leeds Conservatoire we constantly strive to create modern music industry focussed opportunities for our students and graduate community. Our library music project, Quarry Music develops the employability of students and graduates, provides relevant learning experiences, and creates a platform to both monetise and promote their brilliant work.

Partnering with MediaTracks, a successful library music provider for over 25 years, allows us to support talent development within the music industry, while creating new, relevant and authentic compositions for clients and users of library
music catalogues.

Core to the partnership, and powered by MediaTracks experience and expertise, the conservatoire has created this online music library platform to showcase our student and graduate music. The platform and the content within it is supported by a team of student interns who are tasked with finding and nurturing talent, inputting accurate data and promoting our composers and their releases.

The core objectives and beliefs of this project are:

Snapshot 2

The second installment of Quarry Music's 'Snapshot' series, 'Snapshot 2' showcases 10 new student composers across Leeds Conservatoire’s artistic output. The pieces featured are composed for a wide range of placements, with tags including ‘fusion, cinematic, sinister, and disco' through to 'children’s television'. The ’Snapshot' series is part of the Quarry Music production catalogue (powered by MediaTracks) and is used to identify and promote fresh, new composing talent found within Leeds Conservatoire. It’s an annual release that captures a diverse cross-section of musical output, bucking the trend of genre/theme-based albums but laying the foundations for further development of the composers featured.
